AEROBICS

Aerobics class is held at St John’s School on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5.30-7pm. Cost $5. All skill levels attend. Brilliant fun.

DRAWING/ART GROUP

Every fortnight Saturday 2-5pm a group of artists and art -minded people gather to draw from the life model. The proven best way to learn to draw and hone your skill. No experience necessary. GOLF

The Honiara Golf Club is an eleven green 18 tee golf course located at Ranandi. Social Golfers are welcome any day except Saturday when competition is played, with course fees costing $150 for 9 holes and $300 for 18. You will need to bring your own clubs or potentially a local player may loan theirs for around $50. Caddies are available for $100 for 18 holes and $50 for 9 holes. The course has over 300 members, with around 70-80 playing each week in competition. Individual Membership is $1,400 per year or $2,000 for families. Social Membership is also available. The kitchen is open Wed, Thurs, Fri 5pm to 10pm and Sat, Sun 7am to 10pm. Dishes include beef, pork, lamb, chicken, variety of seafood and are usually served with fresh vegetable produce from the market.

HASH HARRIERS

Honiara Hash House Harriers runs every monday evening. The locations change weekly, with the start location placed on the Lime Lounge notice board weekly.

INTERNATIONAL TEA GROUP

ITG meet weekly on Thursdays, 10am at different venues around Honiara. The group is mostly partners of people who are working. It’s a great place to make friends and find out what’s going on around town. ITG also do charity projects and its members are involved in many activities around Solomon Islands. SOLOMON ISLANDS POKER ASSOCIATION

The Solomon Islands Poker Association (SIPA) holds bi-weekly No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker Tournaments. For more information, visit the SIPA Facebook page.

TENNIS

The Honiara Golf Club has a recently renovated tennis court. It is free for members and $50 for visitors. Lights are available at nights for an additional $100. TRIATHLON CLUB

The Triathlon Club meets Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings for swimming training at its home base in Kakambona. The club holds monthly races on the last Saturday of the month, including triathlon relays, and swim-run (aquathlon) events, which you are welcome to join. YOGA

Yoga classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am – 9.30am, during school terms at the Kava Bar area of the Kokonut Cafe. Classes are for beginners, intermediate and advanced. After class, everyone is welcome to stay behind for some breakfast or a coffee at the Kokonut Café. Any questions? ZUMBA

ZUMBA is a one-hour fitness class based on the principle of interval training – alternating high intensity and lower intensity exercise, which works for both beginners and advanced exercises. Mondays & Thursdays,  6-7pm, Hyundai Mall Ground Floor (Sea view area), $30. AFL
