Both kids and adults enjoyed the face painting

On Saturday the 18th of October, the Mercy Primary School held their first school fundraiser on the playing fields of Burns Creek. The aim of the day was to raise much needed funds to continue to construct classrooms and also to erect a security fence for the new school site.

The day was a great success with large amounts of people from the community supporting the event and enjoying the positive atmosphere felt by all. The stalls were stocked with delicious food prepared by the parents of school students, donated clothes, and cold coconuts and drinks. There was also a very popular lucky card game, great music from local musicians and a raffle with amazing prizes from supportive businesses. The Frangipani Ice freezer was probably the most popular location for the small children and adults alike.

From 10am until 4pm the playing fields were abuzz with students, parents, families and music. Everyone who attended the fundraiser and supported the school should be thanked for their support and donations.

The Mercy Primary School would like to publicly acknowledge the generous donations from the following businesses – Tongs Hardware, Meatlovers, Bamboozle Boards, Island Enterprises, Frangipani Ice, Nambawan Meats and Sullivans.
